Exodus 25:1 - 27:19
With the beginnings of the Law defined,
The voice began to shape, in words of
flame,
A space where the covenant would be
enshrined,
The voice itself, the presence be
contained.
The pattern of the ark, the winged
kruvim,
The veil that hangs between the place
of dread
And where the golden lampstand’s
sevenfold beam
Shines on the table that displays the
bread,
The curtains of the tent, its leathern
roof,
Its golden catches and acacia boards,
The sacrificial altar in the court,
The clear oil for the lamp: the whole
as proof
That G-d was with them in their
wanderings:
All to be made of free-will offerings.
