Deuteronomy 26:1 - 29:8

"When you have crossed the stream, you shall set up twelve stones,
And on them write the Law which you have heard today,
And from opposing peaks pronounce in ringing tones
Blessing and curse on those who heed and disobey.
And when your labors yield first-fruits from field or tree,
Then gladly you shall come and say in G-d’s own place:
"These fruits are from the land which G-d has given to me,
A child of wandering tribes here rooted by G-d’s grace."
If you can hold to this, your enemies will scatter,
Your land will yield its fruit, your children will be blest,
But if you turn away, your state, your home will shatter,
And you will be cast forth to wander without rest
Till you are given the heart and mind to understand
That only by G-d’s leave you come into the land."
