Leviticus 26:3 - 27:34

Having spelled out the pattern they must keep,
The Voice then bade them ponder what they'd gain
Or what they'd lose, the benefits they'd reap,
Complying, or the mutifarious bane
Recalcitrance would of itself incur.
For brittle is a social fabric made
Of hardened hearts; by members who defer
Their measure, all the dance is disarrayed,
The vessel for the blessing is undone.
If they would claim the world was made by chance,
They'd know the violence of a world at random,
And little help they'd have from circumstance,
But if they'd stay connected to their Cause
They'd prosper, and walk safely in G-d's laws
