TETZAVEH |
|
Exodus 27:20 - 30:10
Garbed in the robe and ephod, on his brow
The golden signet-plate of holy things,
The breast-plate with the twelve stones
that endow
The heart with judgment, tied by golden
strings
Upon his heart: so might Moshe have
stood,
If at the first call he had not shrunk
back,
Pleading with G-d to send by whom G-d
would,
Till Aharon was called to fill the
lack.
There would be two: the one in privity
With the Eternal, and the one who wore
The splendor of G-d’s favor outwardly
And showed toward G-d the love the
people bore
In precious stuffs and work of skillful
hand.
Thus was Moshe commanded to command.
