NITSAVIM

"You are assembled here: men, women, children too,
The simple and the learned, all trades and all degrees,
And every soul of those that shall be born of you,
And those the Torah’s light shall draw from overseas
-All present in this Now no Then shall supersede.
The echo of this call will never fade away
While earth and sky endure; in every future need
This teaching I impart will show the certain way.
It is not far to seek; it is not up in heaven
Nor in the earth’s far corners, but in each word you speak
It rings; with every breath, with every pulse it’s given,
Life if you cling to it, but death if you forsake.
G-d will yet circumcise your hearts to understand,
Unseal your eyes to see before Whose face you stand."
